Generational Curses

A collection of altered photographs of my family members and myself in our youth; I use this work to examine how the actions/personality traits of one member of the African diaspora can influence the way another member is perceived.

In works these I remove the original backgrounds replacing them with various industrial, tropical, and cultural motifs to reinstate new narratives. I also substitute various body parts with an images of my own body in its current state, as representation of the influence these personalities have had on my own identity.
